Steve Allen retired from Nestlé (http://www.nestle.com) in 2010 after nearly 30 years in sales, marketing and general management at the company. His last role at Nestlé was that of Head of New Ventures.
Steve’s primary interest is in agriculture and nutrition. He is the Managing Partner of California Agricultural Orchards LLC and invests in productive farmland in the Central Valley of California growing mainly almonds and table grapes.
Steve has a non-executive role as Vice-Chairman of 6 Pacific Group (http://www.6pacificgroup.com) a Los Angeles based advisory and investment firm. The 6 Pacific team led by industry financing expert, John Barrymore helps small and large food, beverage and nutrition companies raise and deploy growth capital.
Steve co-founded and is a member of the Screening Committee of Nutrition Capital Network (http://www.nutritioncapital.com) a business that brings together entrepreneurs and investors in the nutrition and food industries. Nutrition Capital has screened over 1,000 business opportunities in the last five years and 40% of the presenting companies have received funding.
Over the last few years, Steve has advised on selected investments and transactions in the food and nutrition area. He was a member of the team that assisted f’real Inc. in the process that led to their sale to Rich Foods in 2012. He also helped The Chia Company with their capital raise and was part of the team that successfully assisted New Chapter in the process that led to the sale to Procter & Gamble.
Ramona L. Cappello
Ramona weaves her passions for advocacy and entrepreneurship in all of her ventures. This is key to her 30-year track record of delivering excellent business results for a variety of companies by leveraging strong brands or creating new ones.
At Corazonas Foods, her vision was to put joy back into the lives of those who are living with high cholesterol by offering great tasting, heart healthy snacks. After losing her father and both grandfathers to heart disease, Ramona committed to building a caring company that took a new approach to addressing and educating Americans about heart disease. She sold that company and in addition to advising entrepreneurs she is starting a new company, Sun Harvest Salts, LLC. Ramona is launching a company that has the exclusive rights to distribute into the North America, patented all-natural low sodium and table sea salts from a United Nations world heritage site in the Sea of Cortez in Baja California, Mexico. This allows her to continue making heart health easier to attain by offering low sodium sea salts to major manufacturers, helping to lower sodium in foods available outside of the home. She also consults and advises several businesses focused in the Food, Health & Wellness industries.
Prior to that, Ramona was a senior executive with Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Company, where she led the company’s growth until the sale to Hershey Foods. Additionally, she delivered outstanding results for food and beverage companies including Nestle, Celestial Seasonings and Kendall-Jackson Wineries.
Ramona graduated as valedictorian from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business. When Ramona is not traveling the world experiencing history and gaining inspiration or spending time with her family, she spends her free time actively involved in leadership with Young Presidents Organization serving on her local board and on international committees, serving on the Board of Trustees for the University Southern California and as Immediate Past President of the Board of Governors of the Alumni Association, as a member of USC Associates and Marshall Partners. She also serves on the Board of Catholic Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Los Angeles.
